Regatta Format

The World Championship will comprise SP1 sailors and those SP2 sailors who choose to sail full servo. The World Champion will be the lowest point score amongst the full servo assist sailors.

Sabaudia's Cup International Regatta will comprise all competitors sailing full servo assist, partial servo and manually. The Sabaudia's Cup winner will be lowest point score across all divisions. The winner will win a Liberty.

This Regatta will be sailed in one fleet and open to holders of an IFDS classification passport, excluding B1 & B2 VIP sailors due to this being a single person event. Sailors will be classified under the IFDS Functional Classification System 2005, SP System (Appendix J) according to their ability to handle a single person dinghy.

SP1 are sailors who need full servo assistance.
SP2 are sailors who need partial servo assistance.
SP3 are manual sailors with predominantly upper limb disability. B3 visually impaired and those B2 visually impaired, who are at the more able end of the B2 scale.
SP4 are all other classifiable sailors who also sail manual.

2 Sun - Preparation, Classification, Seating, Practice Races
3 Mon - Preparation, Classification, Seating, Practice Races
4 Tues - Racing
5 Wed - Racing
6 Thu - Racing
7 Fri - Lay Day
8 Sat - Racing
9 Sun - Racing
10 Mon - Packing Up Day (Racing if required)

The 2005 Single Person Dinghy Worlds will be sailed in the Access Liberty. :

The Liberty, at 3.6m long conforms to the principals of Universal Design and has to be the safest and most user-friendly sailing boat in the world. Being of Universal Design also means it can be sailed by anyone, regardless of their physical ability.

The World Championship and Sabaudia's Cup will be sailed concurrently with eighteenLiberty being provided by event organisors, and owner provided boats.
